We’ve got highlights to share about online sales during Thanksgiving long weekend and Cyber Monday in the US. There were record sales overall, and records on several days including Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

We also note that Amazon again dominated online with 45.1% of online sales on Thanksgiving Day and 55% on Black Friday. This was the year that mobile moved from a simple research tool and price checker into a legitimate sales medium with 33% of sales happening on mobile devices.

Compared with 2014, sales grew by $2.5 billion, showing just how critical Monday is on the Thanksgiving shopping menu. Here’s the important piece. Amazon ruled Thanksgiving Day with 45% of online sales; Walmart growing

Hitwise reports the top 50 retailers handled more than 39.8 million online transactions with  13.0 million on Black Friday and 12.5 million sales on Thanksgiving Day. Amazon alone handled 7.14 million sales on Black Friday and 5.64 million sales on Thanksgiving Day. Read more…
