The numbers are in and it was another massive Singles Day sales success with more than $38.4 billion in sales in just 24 hours. That’s more than Amazon’s entire third-quarter sales – in one day.

- $38.4 billion in sales, up 26% from 2018
- $1 billion in sales in the first 68 seconds
- 1.3 billion delivery orders processed
- 200,000 brands from 78 countries participated
- 215 leading international brands such as Lancôme, SK-II, YSL Beauté, Givenchy and Shiseido were newcomers
- 15 brands sold more than $143 million (RMB1 billion) including Apple, Bose, Estée Lauder, Gap, H&M, L’Oréal, Levi’s, MUJI, Nestlé, Nike, Philips, North Face, Under Armour, Uniqlo
- 300 brands earned more than $14.3 million (RMB100 million)
- five largest foreign country sellers included Japan, US, South Korea, Australia, and Germany
- local merchants from Russia, Spain, Italy, and Turkey participated for the first time
- more than 100,000 brands and merchants used live streaming to market their products
- Tmall Genie – the smart speaker – enabled voice shopping for the first time with three million users and 600,000 orders during pre-sales
- Alime Shop Assistant AI chatbot served customers in 11 languages
- Alibaba DAMO Academy provides enhanced machine translation technology automatically converted store and product pages into 20 languages for small and medium businesses
- Singles Day first launched in 2009 with sales of $7.42 million (RMB52 million) and 260,000 orders.
