After looking into its crystal ball, Square is coming around to the concept of buying bitcoin and possibly paying soon with cryptocurrency.

Bloomberg reports Square is letting some of its clients buy bitcoin with its Square Cash mobile app.

Square issued its own statement from San Francisco saying,

“We’re exploring how Square can make this experience faster and easier, and have rolled out this feature to a small number of Cash app customers.”

Credit Suisse AG analyst Paul Condra wrote in a note to clients: “The upside could be significant if cryptocurrencies become more mainstream.”

Numerous fintech companies already launched debit cards with cryptocurrency payment capability.

Watch for PayPal and other large payments companies to bring out bitcoin payments as cryptocurrency moves to the mainstream.

It doesn’t seem like a huge leap to see cryptocurrency payments coming to stores near you someday soon.
